Prof. Walter J. Balfour Obituary

UVic chemistry emeritus Walter Balfour passed away on December 8 2024. His obituary can be found here.

Walter joined our Department in 1969 and retired in 2006. He was a gas phase high resolution spectroscopist who elucidated the very complex fine structures of the electronic spectrum of simple molecules. Walter was an exceptional researcher, teacher, mentor and colleague who will be sorely missed.
