Research description:

My research focuses on the ecology of amphibians and reptiles, especially snakes. In addition to studies of the animals themselves, I use them to address questions in population dynamics and life-history theory that are of general significance. My research includes studies of thermal relationships, hibernation ecology, movements and feeding. I also have a fundamental interest in applying my results to conservation and management.

International research:

I am currently in the sixth year of a research project in the UK on the ecology of grass snakes, collaborating with a colleague at the University of Kent.
