Research description:

Growth of single crystals of semiconductors for various applications including medical imaging devices, x-ray and gamma ray detectors, solar energy conversion, lasers, and infra-red detectors. Health related research:

Materials research is on the growth of single crystal materials (CdZnTe and GaInSb) for medical imaging devices.

International research:

Number of joint research projects with the Research Institute of Electronics and Faculty of Engineering at Shizuoka University, Hamamatsu, Japan. Projects are on microgravity research, crystal growth, and materials processing.

International activities:

Served as consultant for various universities in Turkey through the United Nations TOKTEN Program.
