Expertise Profile
Mairi is an international expert in ocean observing and environmental sensor networks, having been part of the executive management team in the building of the world’s first regional cabled ocean observatory network, NEPTUNE Canada. She is also an earth/ocean scientist with global expertise in biological, physical, and chemical factors that control the preservation of biogenic carbonate: our primary source of (pre-) historical biological information and the primary way carbon is transferred from the atmosphere-ocean to the crust in the carbon cycle.
