Supporting patients and families throughout serious, advancing illness

Studies in Palliative and End of Life Care (PEOL) is a research group housed at the Institute on Aging and Lifelong Health, led by research affiliate and professor in the School of Nursing, Dr. Kelli Stajduhar.

Our goal is to find ways to improve care for people with chronic, advancing life-limiting illness; family members, informal caregivers and support people; and people who experience structural vulnerabilities and inequitable access to health care services.

In our research we partner with health care providers, managers, administrators and policy makers in the health care system; with researchers from the University of Victoria and other Canadian and international universities; and community organizations.
