Energy Modelling Initiative Western Workshop

After a succesful kick-off in Montreal in February 2019, Natural Resources Canada's Energy Modelling Initiative is hosting three regional workshops in Victoria, Ottawa and Fredericton. Join us for the Victoria workshop in September and connect with local energy system modellers to expand the inventory of modelling tools and identify region-specific needs.

A press release from Natural Resources Canada can be found here.

Time:      Friday, September 27, 2019
              8:45 AM - 4:30 PM

Location: Engineering/Computer Science Building (ECS), room 660
              University of Victoria

Goals of the workshop:

  • Foster synergies, potentials of collaboration and benefits of common tools.
  • Highlight the practical contributions of electricity modelling to policy making.
  • Set the stage for interaction of modelling and policy making.
  • Identify ways to increase the confidence in the quality and the timeliness of results.
  • Explore complementary approaches to broaden current perspectives and overcome limits and gaps.

Getting there

There is a lot of competition for parking this time of year at UVic, so we recommend arriving by taxi, bus, bike, or foot. The campus is well-served by public transportation, including the #15 UVic/Esquimalt Express and the #4 UVic/Downtown.

Once on campus, the map below will guide you to the Engineering Computer Science Building (room 660).
