The CBR Trainee Group includes over a hundred undergraduate and graduate students who are doing or are interested in biomedical research. Throughout the year many events are held by this group showcasing the student biomedical research happening on campus.

Welcome Back CBR/CAMTEC Poster Social

January 12, 2018

All faculty and students are invited to attend this social for an opportunity to learn about both Centres' upcoming events as well as a chance to socialize and learn about possible collaboration possibilities! Formal short program starts at 3:30 pm in BWC A104 with brief discussions of each centre and their projects, as well as upcoming events. After this short session we will adjourn to the lobby for an opportunity for CBR and CAMTEC faculty and students to meet while enjoying a cash bar, snacks and a chance to discuss your research poster.

Workshop: Time Frequency Analysis of Brain Data

November 24, 2017 in UVic's CLE C108

Dr. Mathewson will be running a hands-on workshop to teach people how to analyze time-frequency brain data in the MATLAB programming environment. Theoretical content will be discussed but the focus will be on application. A laptop with a recent version of MATLAB is all that is required.

Workshop space is limited so spots will be given out on a first come, first serve, basis. Contact Dr. Krigolson at krigolson@uvic.ca for more information or to reserve a spot.


Research Talk: Using Mobile EEG to Study Attention Outside the Lab

November 24, 2017 in UVic's CLE A203

Dr. Mathewson will be talking about some of his recent work that uses mobile EEG to study attention outside of the laboratory. His work focuses on exposing people to outdoor environments and then studying the difference in neural ERP responses associated with the allocation of attention and how they are impacted by the environment. Dr. Mathewson is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Alberta. Dr. Mathewson did his graduate training at the University of Illinois.
