Biography

Tansi everyone, my name is Matthew Simpson, my pronouns are he/they, and I am the Project Officer in the Office of the Vice-President Indigenous. I am Swampy Cree, a son of the Crate family from Ochekwi-Sipi (Fisher River) Cree Nation in Manitoba. I am privileged to be an adopted member of the Mills family from Skidegate on Haida Gwaii, and I also have mixed European settler ancestry through my mom and dad. As the PO, I provide research, administration, and coordination support for the Project Manager and the Director of Indigenous University Initiatives.
