Policy Implementation Manager

OVPI

Contact:

As the Policy Implementation Manager I support the coordination and implementation of the Indigenous Citizenship Declaration (ICD) Policy. My work centers Indigenous self-determination, community accountability and building meaningful relationships with Nations, organisations and community partners.

I am guided by my Coast Salish teachings and a commitment to creating institutional change that reflects the strengths, priorities and futurisms of Indigenous Peoples. I am a proud Sḵwx̱wú7mesh woman. My relations on my mother side belong to the Sea Wolf Clan from the Xwmelch’stn village. On my father’s side I have mixed Mohawk and French ancestry. I say ancestry as my father nor his family have had a presence in my life and I do not know those lifeways. I grew up urban, off-reserve and was fortunate to grow up on the Traditional Territory of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, and səlilwətaɬ Nations. I am honoured to be a part of the team at the OVPI and am looking forward to continue the amazing work being done
