Our orientation programs are a great way to prepare for university, but you can't learn all of the ins and outs in just one day. A number of events take place over the first six weeks of the semester to continue welcoming you to campus, to introduce you to available opportunities and to get you involved.

UVSS Campus Kick-Off

Join the UVSS as they welcome students back to campus with a bang. With events including a free pancake breakfast, Bands on the Roof, a movie in the quad, a farmer's market and more, there's something for everyone. >>Learn more

ThunderFest

Join Vikes Nation for THE kick-off festival of the school year. With live music, giant inflatables, and many giveaways and prizes, this is a can’t-miss event.

Sexualized Violence Awareness Week

This week of information, workshops, and events provides a variety of opportunities for students and UVic community members to engage in the learning and support options that exist on campus regarding sexualized violence.

Dodge in the Dark

Who can say no to glow-in-the-dark dodgeball? Wear your brightest clothes and get your throwing arm ready for this Vikes Nation event.

Clubs and Course Unions Days

Get involved on campus from the very beginning. Stop by the Student Union Building (SUB) on Clubs and Course Union Days to chat with the wide variety of student groups on campus.

Days of Thunder

Join Vikes Nation as the men's and women's basketball teams take the court in their first home games of the year. 

Saturday, September 29

Project Serve Day

Once you’ve settled in to campus life, choose to spend a day off-campus volunteering with a local community organization with other UVic students. This event typically takes place the last Saturday in September, and requires pre-registration.

Monday, October 1 to Friday, October 3

Vikes Fit Week

Vikes Fit Week is a great opportunity to try something new and explore your workout options. Participate in a variety of free fitness opportunities, climb to the top of the tower at the Peninsula Co-op Climbing Centre or sweat it out in one of the CARSA studios. 

Tuesday, October 2 and Wednesday, October 3

Work Experience and Career Fair

Curious about where your degree can take you? Come talk with representatives from different companies and industries to learn about work opportunities and possible careers. Plus, stop by the Career Prep Corner and chat about how to make the most of the fair. >>Learn more
