Parent & family programming

As parent or family member, you play an important role in your student's success at university. The first year of university can be an incredible period of transition, growth and opportunity for students. Our goal during this time is to ensure that both you and your student are prepared to successfully navigate this transition, and are fully aware of the support programs and services that we have available.

Parent and family webinar

Tuesday, August 23, 7 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. PT

Parents and family members can be an important source of support for students as they transition to university. Join us for this parent and family focused webinar as we share what to expect during the transition (for both your student and yourself!), introduce you to the wide variety of resources available at UVic, and answer any remaining questions you might have.

Faculty-specific parent and family programming

In addition to the webinar for all parents and family members of new UVic students, some faculties are also running in-person or virtual programming for parents and family members. Keep checking back for details!

BCom 101 - Gustavson Parent Welcome

The Gustavson School of Business is excited to welcome new Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) students this fall and would love the opportunity to meet you, parents and guardians, this September. An RSVP is required for either event. Invitations with RSVP information have been sent for our Virtual BCom Parents’ information session to receive a special welcome from our Dean, Dr. Saul Klein, faculty and alumni. You’ll also meet our BCom program staff, learn about the BCom program features and conclude with a virtual mix and mingle.

Also, should you be assisting your student moving into their accommodation, we invite you to drop in for an informal open house where you can connect with Dr. Klein, faculty and staff and discover where the learning magic happens!
