Transit (U-Pass)

The U-Pass (bus pass) is valid with BC Transit and HandyDart services,  your U-Pass will work on all busses running in the Victoria Regional Area. While using your card on BC Transit, you are obligated to follow the Victoria Regional Transit System Transit Tariff Agreement.

2020 U-Pass opt-in

Note: Due to COVID-19, not all students will be automatically charged the U-Pass fee.

All students enrolled in at least one on-campus credit course are automatically charged the U-Pass fee, and can activate the U-Pass using their ONECard.

All other students who have paid UVSS or GSS fees are eligible to opt-in to the U-Pass, including co-op, online, distance, Island Medical Program, and practicum students.

The U-Pass provides four months of U-Pass access within the Victoria Regional Transit System.

How to opt-in


When you opt-in, your transaction is with your respective Student Society, not the University of Victoria. If you have any questions about your payment or the U-Pass program, please contact:

How to activate your U-Pass

The U-Pass self-service kiosks allow UVic students to activate a U-Pass after business hours.

Kiosks are available in the University Centre and at the Student Union Building 

Update your ONECard at the U-Pass self-service kiosks in the University Centre lobby or in the UVSS in the Student Union Building. The U-Pass is valid with BC Transit on Greater Victoria buses only and HandyDart services.
