Get your card

Your ONECard is everything! It’s your official student ID, and easy way to buy food on campus, your library card and so much more. Learn how to submit your photo online and pick up your card in a breeze.

HOW TO GET YOUR CARD

There are 2 ways to get your card.  

  1. If you have not had a onecard before, please login to your onecard account through online tools and submit a photo.  Once you submit please wait for the email either accepting it or denying it.  You will be provided a choice to either pick-up your card or have it mailed (mailing is a $20.00 fee).
  2. If you had a onecard in the past, you can not submit a photo online.  Please visit us at the onecard office or for further instructions on how to get your card mailed (mailing is a $20.00 fee).  

OPTION #1: Submit your photo online

  • take a photo of yourself
  • similar to a passport photo (but smile!)  Do not submit a "photo of a photo"
  • current photo with eyes open
  • colour & jpg
  • smooth white background, no shadows, door or plants etc.
  • centered - full view of face and hair - no hats, sunglasses, headbands, logos*
  • not digitally altered / no filters

*Veiled students can make a private appointment to be photographed, please contact us.24 hours after creating your netlink ID, login to online tools and follow the instructions.   

NOTE: by submitting your photo online, you certify that you are the person in this photo and you confirm that this photo is a true likeness of yourself. Submitting a false photo of yourself is in violation of UVic policy. Do not submit any altered photo of yourself.  Using your UVic netlink login incorrectly or falsely identifying yourself may also result in University policy infractions. The ONECard Office reserves the right to reject any photo not in compliance with our guidelines, up to and including at the point of card pickup.  Once you have successfully added your photo, add a photo of your government ID, it must be in English.

All data from the upload is stored securely in an encrypted format on the University of Victoria server until the verification step is complete. Government ID is automatically purged once the photo is approved (and/or rejected).   

 OPTION #2: Come in and have your photo taken

  • If you have a photo already in the system, you can not submit another one online.  Please bring 1 piece of Government Issued Photo ID and your V0#___ to the Jamie Cassels Centre, ONECard office. 
  • Or, regarding mailing your card.  There is a $20.00 fee for mailing cards.
