DMS welcomes new Graduate Program Administrator

Dr. Heather Alexander has recently joined the Division of Medical Sciences as the Graduate Program Administrator. She has spent most of her working life at the Bamfield Marine Sciences Centre, where she was a Research Associate with Dr. Brad Anholt, Professor in UVic's Department of Biology, studying the evolution and ecology of biased sex ratios in the marine copepod Tigriopus californicus. She also served as BMSC’s Communications Manager and University Programs Coordinator.

Heather has a BSc in marine biology (UVic), MSc degree in population ecology (UCalgary), and a PhD in evolutionary biology (SFU). Heather’s 30 years of experience at BMSC as a research associate, instructor, communications specialist, and administrator makes her uniquely qualified for her diverse responsibilities.
