Tower of London
The Tower of London: an historical romance (1840) is a serial novel by William Harrison Ainsworth focused on Lady Jane Grey's life from the time she became Queen of England until her execution.
The events of the book alternate between historical background of the tower and the plot of Lady Jane and her short reign. The novel is illustrated with 40 engravings and 58 woodcuts by George Cruikshank
