Gerry plans and develops the bi-yearly TA Conferences and workshops throughout the academic year. She also prepares and oversees the TA Consultant (TAC) program.

Concurrently, Gerry is a biology PhD candidate researching the potential function of condensed tannins as in vivo antioxidants in poplar trees. Gerry recently graduated with a graduate certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education (LATHE). She has also received the Andy Farquharson Teaching Excellence Award for Graduate Students in 2017 and the Teaching Assistant and Graduate Student Advancement (TAGSA) award for best session led by a graduate student at the Society for Teaching and Learning (STLHE) conference in 2019.
