Summer 2023 Sessional Instructor Position
Request for Expressions of Interest
The Faculty of Law invites expressions of interest for a sessional lecturer to teach the following course in the Summer 2023 (May to July) academic term:
LAW 315 Business Associations (2 Units) 4 hours per week
Conceptual overview of business organizations including legal and fiduciary concepts in commercial relationships. Analyzes and discusses various legal forms for carrying on business, such as sole proprietorship, partnership, co-operatives and corporations. Also covers agency law. Recognizes that the corporation as an organizational form is of immense legal and commercial significance and accordingly focuses on statutory provisions and case law governing the modern corporation.
Applications are welcome from individual instructors and teaching teams.
All appointments will be for the Summer 2023 academic term and will take the form of a Sessional Instructor appointment within the CUPE 4163 (Component 3) Sessional Lecturers certification.
Appointment at the rank of Sessional Instructor requires successful completion of an LLB, JD, BCL or equivalent law degree, and at least two years of practice or related experience. A graduate degree in law would be an asset. A record of successful teaching in a relevant course, or in other law school courses, would be an asset.
Remuneration will be commensurate with the nature of the appointment, educational background, and experience.

It is anticipated that staffing will be completed by 17 March 2023. The University reserves the right to fill additional teaching assignments from the pool of applicants for this posting. The position may be re-posted if not filled and is subject to satisfactory course enrollment.
