Career Services for International Students

As an international student, you know that you have unique needs when it comes to looking for work during and after your studies at UVic. You may have many questions about the Canadian job market or how to navigate through the job search, as well as how to prepare a Canadian resume and cover letter. We, at Career Services, are here to help you find your way.

We recommend that you attend one of these workshops depending on your goal of finding a campus/part time job or a permanent post-graduation position.

  • Resume Lab
Workshop where you can learn how to make a resume and cover letter that looks good, gets results, and catches an employer’s attention.
  • Ace Your Interviews
Workshop where you will learn interview techniques strategies and practice typical questions to grow your confidence.
  • LinkedIn Essentials

Workshop where you will learn how to connect online using LinkedIn, starting with the alumni of UVic.

Online Career Programs

We offer two career programs that will help in your career and job search exploration. These programs are online and self-paced.

  • Horizons Program
Help finding your career direction? Not sure if your ideas are a fit here in Canada? In Horizons you will explore career possibilities and generate career goals.
  • Navigator Program
Navigator will help you: create effective resumes and cover letters, organize your work search, develop strong networking skills to connect with employers.
