As the Assistant to the Executive Director, Global Engagement I represent the Executive Director in ongoing communications and relations with a variety of senior administrative and academic offices and frequent interaction with senior executives, deans, faculty, and external stakeholders around scheduling of meetings, committee work and associated materials. I manage the Executive Director’s busy calendar, and ensure that the Executive Director is well prepared for meetings, and has everything required in order to be fully efficient and effective in her role.

I provide guidance to OGE staff on matters relating to protocol, processes, best practices and policy around administration, financial management, human resources, computing and systems, and safety and security. I manage the human resources requirements of the department, assist in the onboarding and training of new staff, and ensure the operational needs of the department are being met and the office is both responsive and proactive in its performance. I manage the office’s budget and expense management and reconciliation, and liaise with vendors, UVic and external service providers as necessary.

I maintain the University’s international memberships, and support Senior Executive international travel and missions abroad, and assist in the planning of international delegation visits.
