Global partnerships
UVic has active partnership agreements with over 300 post-secondary institutions located worldwide. These partnerships enable students, staff and faculty to collaborate internationally and travel abroad for study, co-op, service learning, professional development and research opportunities.

Creating or renewing international agreements
Faculty and staff members may submit proposals for new international partnerships which may focus on students, staff, and faculty exchanges; student recruitment; co-operative education; double/dual degrees and other collaborations.
Proposals must use an approved form available from the Office of Global Engagement and meet the following requirements:
- Have documented support from a UVic department or school, as well as a faculty,
- Align with the university's strategic and international plans, and
- Ideally, involve units from across campus.
Completed proposals are submitted to the Education Abroad Committee (EAC) for approval, prior to signing by the office of the Vice-President Academic and Provost. EAC meets on a bi-monthly basis.
Global Engagement staff negotiate formal agreements upon EAC approval of a proposal, and monitor the effectiveness of all international agreements on behalf of UVic.
