Program and Abstracts

The Shifting Tides History Conference is an annual graduate student conference organized by the University of Victoria in collaboration with Simon Fraser University, the University of British Columbia, and the University of Northern British Columbia. Now in its 48th year, the conference has emerged as an interdisciplinary forum where graduate and senior undergraduate students in History and related fields present their research to colleagues from other institutions across the Pacific Northwest and, indeed, North America. Join us again this year at the Bayside Oceanfront Resort in scenic Parksville, British Columbia, for Shifting Tides!

We invite proposals on all topics, regions, and time periods. Talks are normally 20 minutes in duration and are followed by a question period. Presenters are encouraged to revise their papers after the conference for submission to the Graduate History Review, a journal published at the University of Victoria.
