New Edition of Technical Writing Essentials Now Available

The ATWP is excited to share that the expanded second edition of Technical Writing Essentials: Designing Professional Communications in the Technical Fields by Suzan Last is now available.

The new edition is available for instructors and students to use in course prep and includes
updates such as sections on generative AI, visual rhetoric, and UX design, along with expanded content on research, teamwork, and problem definition. It introduces the fundamentals of professional communication in technical contexts, focusing on audience analysis, clear and reader-centred writing, information design, collaboration, and research skills.

The official publication is expected in June, and, in the meantime, instructors are encouraged to explore the text and share feedback.
