Bayla Kolk is Senior Executive in Residence at the School of Public Administration at the University of Victoria. Bayla is on an Interchange assignment from the federal public service in Ottawa where she was Assistant Deputy Minister, most recently at the Treasury Board Secretariat of Canada. She also held senior level positions at Human Resources and Skills Development Canada, Privy Council Office, Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, and Transport Canada.

Bayla brings to the position of Senior Executive in Residence a wealth of experience in public administration, leading economic and social policy analysis and development, program delivery, multi-stakeholder partnering, negotiations, and serving Ministers and Cabinet. Bayla's goal is to offer UVic students and the University community the benefit of her knowledge and experience as a guest lecturer, resource, mentor, and partner. She will be focusing on social policy including indigenous issues and homelessness, as well as guiding students in professional career development to prepare for employment in the public sector.
