Welcome Dr. Yurii Koretskyi
The School of Public Administration is pleased to welcome Dr. Yurii Koretskyi as a Post-Doctoral Fellow. Dr. Koretskyi will be working with Dr. Tamara Krawchenko and Dr. Katya Rhodes on projects linked to Dr, Rhodes’ 2022-25 SSHRC Insight grant which assesses political costs of achieving Canada’s net-zero emissions target using modelling of climate policy pathways and a national survey of public support for stringent climate policy.
Dr. Koretskyi holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the Institute of Regional Research of the NAS of Ukraine, and a Masters's degree in Business Economics from Lutsk State Technical University. He has more than 20 years of experience in scientific and teaching activities at universities in Ukraine and Poland. Worked as an Assistant Professor at the Old Polish Academy of Applied Sciences in Kielce, Poland, Assistant Professor at the Interregional Academy of Personnel Management (IAPM), Ukraine, and Assistant Professor at the Lutsk State Technical University, Ukraine.
He has developed training courses for students in the Economy of European integration, Public finances, Economic History, International Economic Relations, Macroeconomics, Economic policy, and Management of innovative projects. He completed the Manager Training Programme of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy «Economic cooperation», Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), Germany and Project management methodology Primavera P3e Programme, Ukrainian Project Management Association (UPMA), Ukraine.
In addition to scientific activity, he is a professional manager with 15 years of experience in large corporations and has practical knowledge in the field of financial management, project management, business planning, and development project management. He held the position of CFO in the Development company that built the premium residential complex "Signature" in Kyiv, worked as the CEO of the West Oil Group, which implemented investment projects for the Ukrainian network of WOG gas stations, was the head of the project management group in the large holding company Continium. Dr. Koretskyi is actively interested in venture projects in the field of fintech and foodtech, in particular, and has successfully launched a food delivery service in Ukraine. He is presently working on a project to launch a mobile bank without branches.
