From hype to healthcare event

Two recent events that explored the role of artificial intelligence in health are available to watch online. 

From Hype to Hospital: How AI is Being Used in Healthcare & Research, co-hosted by the UVic Institute on Aging & Lifelong Health and Island Health, is posted on YouTube. 

Panelists, including Elizabeth Borycki and Andre Kushniruk, from the School of Health Information Science, brought their expertise from research, clinical care, and health systems to explore how artificial intelligence can be used safely, ethically, and effectively in healthcare.
 

In November, the School of Public Health and Social Policy (PHSP) hosted a roundtable discussion on the role of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) in public health. Moderated by PHSP's Matt Little, panelists included PHSP's Sarah Wright Cardinal, UVic's Zahra Premji and BCCDC/UBC's Muyi Iyamu. Watch it on YouTube.
