Margaret was a Professor at the Gustavson School of Business and also taught for the Business and Management Programs section of UVic Continuing Studies. Her teaching background includes financial and management accounting, finance, taxation and business administration. Margaret was awarded the BCom Teaching Award by the Commerce Students’ Society in 2013.
In addition to earning an MBA from Wilfrid Laurier University and a CPA, CMA designation, she is an alumna of the University of Victoria having obtained a Certificate in Adult and Continuing Education and most recently completed the Institute of Corporate Directors - Directors Education Program earning the ICD.D designation.
Margaret began her business career in a family-owned small business and has held professional positions in a large Canadian corporation, a public accounting firm, and with a BC Crown Corporation. She is currently the Chair of the University Club. She was a board member of the Craigdarroch Historical Museum Society and past president of a local Saanich community association. Margaret is also a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors, the Academy of Management, the Canadian Accounting Association and the Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (STLHE).
