Professor Bill Buckwold joined the University of Victoria, Faculty of Business in 1993 after leaving the Accounting Department in the University of Manitoba. He taught at UVic until his retirement in 2007. He has extensive experience in academic and professional tax education. A Chartered Professional Accountant, Chartered Accountant and graduate of the University of Western Ontario's School of Business Administration, with cross-studies at the Faculty of Law. In addition to his work at the University of Victoria and University of Manitoba he has lectured extensively across Canada for various provincial Institutes of Chartered Accountants, the Canadian Society of Management Accountants, the Banff School of Advanced Management, and the Bar Admission program of the Law Society of Manitoba. Bill served as a governor of the Canadian Tax Foundation. He served as a member of the Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Manitoba and as a member of the Professional Development Committee of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants.

During his tenure at UVic Bill's accomplishments include successfully teaching Taxation, Business Decision Making, Financial Accounting & Control and Management Accounting. He served as the Bachelor of Commerce, Academic Director and as an MBA Case Competition Coach.

The 22 edition of Bill's book "Canadian Income Taxation: Planning and Decision Making" is in progress and will be published July 2019.
