Five-year EQUIS re-accreditation confirms Gustavson’s excellence

March 29, 2018 – Gustavson has retained its European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS) accreditation through to 2023. The five-year re-accreditation from the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD), who administers the global designation, comes after a rigorous peer-review visit held in late 2017.

The highly sought-after accreditation was first awarded to Gustavson in 2006. EQUIS 5-year accreditation is the “Gold Standard” for business school quality assurance (Financial Times), and only 106 institutions worldwide are in this select group. EQUIS assesses the internationalization and corporate connections of business schools as well as program quality and research output. Prospective students seek out EQUIS accredited schools knowing that they rank amongst the best in the world. The accreditation also helps with the school’s ability to recruit new faculty members and international partners for their study abroad programs.

“EQUIS accreditation is enormously important for our brand,” explains Dr. Saul Klein, dean of Gustavson. “Having the EQUIS team review our efforts and endorse the business school’s achievements in research, community connections and business education validates our success in delivering world-class programs.”

Gustavson’s commitment to the re-accreditation process is significant. Over ninety Gustavson faculty members, staff, students, alumni and community representatives directly participated in the process over the past year.

In addition to the EQUIS accreditation, Gustavson also holds the AACSB International (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools Business) accreditation. Less than one percent of all business schools in the world are accredited by both EQUIS and AACSB.
