The Whistler Chamber of Commerce and Peter B. Gustavson School of Business’ “Whistler Experience” wins First Place among medium sized Chambers in North America

Nov. 1, 2018, Victoria, BC: The “Whistler Experience”, a service excellence program developed in partnership between the Whistler Chamber of Commerce and the Peter B. Gustavson School of Business at the University of Victoria, has won First Place among medium sized Chambers in North America at the 2018 Chamber Innovation Awards Competition.

The Whistler Experience is a host of programs powered by the Gustavson School of Business, and focuses on building a service leadership program that equips organizations in Whistler with resources needed to provide world-class customer service.

Realizing the importance of customer experience in the success of the entire Whistler resort, Dr. Mark Colgate developed this program with an emphasis on the 3Rs of customer service: being Reliable, being Responsive, and building Relationships.

“We are thrilled to have been recognized for our Whistler Experience program”, said Dr. Mark Colgate, professor at Gustavson School of Business and lead instructor of the Whistler Experience. We realize just how important a role customer service plays in the success of any business. And so, we worked with the Whistler Chamber on ensuring that every Whistler visitor receives nothing but the best of customer service experiences. The program ensures that every member of Whistler’s service staff is dedicated to providing nothing but excellent service experiences throughout the resort.”

Increasing resort-wide guest satisfaction throws light on the program’s positive impact on the guest experience, with over 75% of visitors being very satisfied in the resort’s delivery of all 3Rs up significantly from previous years.
