Gustavson hosts international educators for inclusiveness workshop

On May 26 and 27, 2017, a group of 20 select international partners convened in Victoria to join Gustavson’s International Programs team for a workshop celebrating diversity and strategies to promote inclusiveness. Designed as a precursor to the annual NAFSA conference, held May 28 – June 2 in Los Angeles, the workshop provided an opportunity to build and expand relationships with international education partners. Participants included representatives from partner schools, as well as Gustavson faculty, staff, students and alumni.

Workshop sessions focused on topics such as assessing the impact of exchange; creating an “Ecosystem for Change;” building an inclusive world; and reconciling international experience with environmental impact. Participants pooled their expertise and perspective to create the framework for a paper addressing how international educators can build inclusiveness into their programs, which they hope to share with other educators in future.
