Questions? We have answers.

What are your COVID safety practices?

Our goal is to minimize in-person interaction and contact. Our practices have been approved by the Occupational Health and Safety Office for WorkSafe BC compliance:

  • Bookings can be made by email, but not in person at this time.
  • We'll only be accepting online payments.
  • Appointments will be staggered so you won't run into another student.
  • When you arrive for your appointment, the photographer will greet you from a distance.
  • We'll have a hand sanitizing station outside the studio.
  • Other than you and the photographer, nobody else will be allowed in the studio (unless you require a caregiver).
  • We'll have a clearly marked path into and out of the studio for you to follow so you can maintain physical distance with the photographer.
  • You'll have the option of wearing our disinfected regalia, bringing your own, or not wearing regalia
  • You won't need to touch anything during the appointment except regalia (if you choose to wear it). and the posing stool (which will be disinfected between appointments).
  • The photographer will maintain physical distance throughout and will wear a mask
  • The studio door will be left open at all times, and window opened whenever possible for ventilation.

How long does the sitting take?

About 30 minutes.

Do I have to bring regalia (grad gown and hood)?

During COVID protocols, we have three different options. 1) We provide regalia that has been disinfected and not worn for one week, including your degree hood (doctoral hoods must be rented from the Bookstore). 2) You can bring your own regalia. 3) If you'd prefer not to wear regalia, we'll place the regalia on a rack beside you in the photo.

What should I wear under the gown?

Women tend to wear either a button-up shirt that will show above the gown neckline, or something low enough that only the gown neckline shows. Men tend to wear a dress shirt, with or without a tie. The top of the black graduate gown comes approximately to your collarbone. Pants and shoes will not be seen in the photos.

How long does it take to receive my photos?

PDF proofs and final digital files will usually be emailed to you a week after your appointment. Final prints take about two to three weeks from the time we receive your order.

How do I order prints?

Once you've selected your shots from the pdf, download an order form (PDF) and  it in with your payment. Online payments can be made through our secure form.

Do you have a mirror?

Yes, we have one in the studio. Please bring your own hairbrush, makeup, hair clips, hairspray, gel, etc. as no grooming products are available at this time.
