Discover UVic: USA

Saturday, November 30, 2019

If you're studying at a high school or college in the USA, take a trip to Canada on Thanksgiving Weekend and see what UVic has to offer.

  • Start your day with a bus tour of Victoria, including sights such as the Fairmont Empress Hotel, Craigdarroch Castle, Fisherman's Wharf and Victoria's stunning Inner Harbour. The tour is free for all attendees, and space is limited.
  • Attend the "Discover Your Edge" presentation to learn about:
    • admission requirements and the application process for students studying in US curriculums
    • the differences between American and Canadian post-secondary institutions
    • how UVic recognizes AP and IB credits
    • participating in co-operative education
    • opportunities to work and study abroad.
  • Meet current students who will answer your questions about moving to Victoria, including what it's like to live and study at UVic.
  • Go on a walking tour of our campus led by a UVic student, including a visit to a faculty of your choice.

Find out how UVic can help you accomplish your goals, connect with other future UVic students coming from the US and picture yourself as a member of our community.

Who should attend

  • US high school students in grades 10-12 (including Canadians attending US schools)
  • Students transferring to UVic from US post-secondary institutions
