About me

Hello, my name is Robert Busch. I am Nisga’a and Gitxsan on my mother's side, and German and Scottish on my father's side. I arrived at UVic as an undergraduate student in 2014, and have been grateful to learn and work on the territories of the Songhees, Esquimalt, W̱SÁNEĆ, and Stz’uminus.

As a UVic student, I spent a lot of time at the First Peoples House. It's a great place for Indigenous students to grow in your culture and connect to the local land, learning about others through good discussion in a relaxing and calming space. I hope you'll have the chance to see it for yourself.

My advice to future university students

I'm thrilled by the opportunity to work with indigenous students and communities, and look forward to helping you find your own path. Wherever it leads, I encourage you to give thought to how you will grow your career and contribute to your community.
