About me

After a trip to Mexico in high school, I was hit with the travel bug...so once I graduated from university, I hit the skies! I lived and taught in South Korea, backpacked Western Europe and Australia, volunteered in Uganda, worked in Afghanistan and criss-crossed North America. Now, I get the pleasure of traveling to South and East Asia promoting UVic and the city I love, Victoria!

Coming from a small rural town, I can attest that UVic is the perfect size, and not too overwhelming. The beautiful, lush campus inspires community and openness, and people are connecting all of the time over challenging conversations, inspired debates or games in the Quad. Come check it out for yourself, but be warned...you might never want to leave!

My advice to future university students

Money isn't everything. I made a lot of limiting decisions when I was in university, because I thought I couldn't afford it. The experience of participating in co-op, studying abroad or living in residence is invaluable! Debt happens and can be managed responsibly. The opportunities presented to you at university are unique and may not be available or practical later in life.
