Michelle Rios

Michelle Rios is a performing artist and educator with over thirty years of Broadway, Off-Broadway, regional, and television/film experience. She performed in the Tony Award nominated Broadway productions of The Capeman, The Sound of Music, Man of La Mancha, and opposite Lin Manuel Miranda in the original company of the Tony Award-winning Best Musical In the Heights. She also appears in various feature films and in episodes of Schmigadoon!, Law and Order, Third Watch, One Life to Live, etc. Ms. Rios holds an MFA in Community-based Theatre Practice from the University of Alberta. She has been an instructor, lecturer, and guest director at the University of Alberta, Concordia University of Edmonton, Portage College University Studies, Grande Prairie Regional College, and CCPA. While in New York, she led musical theatre masterclasses at the Julliard School through Soyulla Artists, Inc., and was an Associate Site Director and teaching artist with ENACT, Inc. She has facilitated masterclasses and workshops at the Citadel Theatre Robbins Academy, Undercurrent Theatre Co., iHuman Youth Society, and at various organizations both in Canada and the U.S. www.mmrios.com.
