Kamrun Naher Liza is from Bangladesh. Over the last nine years, she has been working as a Theatre activist. She did her graduation and post-graduation in Theatre and performance studies from the University of Dhaka with research credit on Freire’s philosophy and Augusta Boal’s Theatre of the Oppressed: The Exploration of Development Theatre in Bangladesh. She has conducted a variety of theatre workshops, applied theatre projects, dramatic literature, playwriting, acting, and directing, and worked as an assistant teacher at a government primary school in Bangladesh. She was honored with the Dean’s Award of Merit 2018 of the University of Dhaka for achieving an outstanding academic result and the Zia Haider Scholarship 2018 for obtaining the 2nd position in BA (Hon’s). She received the Kabi Sufia Kamal Hall Trust Fund Scholarship in 2017 for extracurricular activities (sports). She is interested in working with other communities and ethnic groups in the world and would like to explore how theater can play a role in solving the problems of refugees and women's rights. She is also willing to explore the effectiveness of Theatre in Education.
