Attending in-person ceremonies

UVic is committed to celebrating graduation in a safe and meaningful way. In light of the new public health orders and increasing rate of vaccinations in BC, we're hosting in-person convocation ceremonies for our fall 2021 graduating students.

Health & safety

The health and safety of our university community and our visitors is a top priority. UVic follows the public health guidelines set out by the BC Provincial Health Officer (PHO) and WorkSafe BC.

All in-person convocation participants must show proof of full vaccination, wear a mask indoors and follow event safety protocols.

Honorary degrees

UVic has awarded honorary degrees since its first convocation in 1964. This fall we're awarding three honorary degrees that recognize notable achievements in scholarship, teaching, business and public service.

Diplomas

Diplomas are available for pick-up as of November 1 at the Office of the Registrar in the Jamie Cassels Centre.

On your convocation day you can pick it up before your ceremony. If you do pick it up before your ceremony, please make sure to give it to family or friends before making your way to Clearihue.

Flowers

Surprise your graduate with a beautiful bouquet of flowers!

You can pre-order flowers for pick up the day of your ceremony. Graduates will not be able to wear or carry flowers during their ceremony so hold on to them until after. Fresh roses are also available for purchase during convocation.
