CSCE Western Region Lecture Tour

An Experience to Remember Glacier Skywalk Jasper National Park, Alberta.  Glacier Skywalk is an awe-inspiring interpretive experience in one of the most unique ecosystems in the world.  The project allows visitors to explore the immense powers of glaciology from a fully-accessible, cliff-edge walkway that leads to a glass-floored observation platform 280 metres (918 ft) above the Sunwapta Valley.  Dr. Simon Brown, from Read Jones Christoffersen, led the design of the project and will go over the unique conditions and a few of the challenges the designers had to consider during design and construction.  The walkway will be open to the public in May 2014.  Read more ...
