EDUC3 — Digital Project Coordinator

Job description:

This position involves the design and development of a digital template for reporting on the research efforts of graduate students in the faculty of education, and then collecting information to populate a database that will be used to help communicate research activity in the faculty. It will also involve writing succinct summaries of information in readable and engaging texts for lay audiences. The successful applicant will work closely with the Associate Dean, Graduate Programs and Research and other staff and faculty involved in supporting graduate student research.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledgeable social media user
  • A skilled oral and written communicator
  • Ability to synthesize and summarize ideas into narrative forms
  • Able to organize and manage diverse materials
  • Familiar with computer graphic design software
  • Experience in database management
  • Research experience in conducting interviews an asset
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision

Job location:

Faculty of Education, MacLaurin Building

Wage:

$18/hour ($15.50/hour PLUS a $2.50/hour top-up)

EPLS1 - Content Writing and Development

Job description:

From September 2020 to April 2021, I am looking for a candidate who is able to help me create content for social media and advertising for food security, social justice, and gender equity initiatives connected to St. Ann’s Academy. The tasks included for this position include:

  1. Creating content from various programs and initiatives for social media and community consultation
  2. Assisting with the development of an adult education programme (and activities) for the general public to educate about social and ecological justice through the (complex) work and history of the Sisters of St. Ann’s at St. Ann’s Academy
  3. Keeping a video and photographic record of different programs to capture program highlights

Qualifications:

  1. Interest and/or background in feminist, social and/or ecological issues
  2. Strong written communication abilities
  3. Strong technological skills
  4. Photographic and video capabilities (including editing)
  5. An interest in creative expression, community, and social media engagement

Job location:

Clover Student Research Office, MacLaurin Building room 525, as well various other sites in Victoria (transportation provided)

Wage:

$15.50/hour (including 4% vactaion pay)
