What would you like others to know about you?

My name is Amanda Willms and I have been a member of the Digital Health Lab since Fall 2019. Prior to coming to the University of Victoria, I completed my undergraduate degree at Western University in Clinical Kinesiology. Through my coursework and practicum experiences I knew that I wanted to explore further education in Kinesiology, particularly in the field of behaviour science. Outside of my Master’s degree, I work in recreation therapy in a long-term care home (my favourtie activity is teaching exercise classes), I am an amateur runner, and enjoy a good cup of coffee!

What have you done so far, or what do you hope to accomplish during your graduate degree at UVic?

Throughout my time at UVic, I have taken many different opportunities to “put myself out there” to widen my skillset and discuss my research. A few examples of this would be applying to various grants and awards, submitting abstracts to conferences for poster presentations, taking part in the 3-Minute Thesis competition, and taking on TAships with a teaching-role.
