What would you like others to know about you?

My name is Xiaopei Peng. I am from Mainland China. I am currently a second year doctoral student. I did my BA in Advertising and MA in Higher Education. I have worked as an academic tutor and an IELTS lecturer in China. I love teaching and tutoring as I can connect with different people in a meaningful way. I want to be a univeristy teacher after getting my PhD degree.

What have you done so far, or what do you hope to accomplish during your graduate degree at UVic?

As an international student, I am struggling with English, different learning modes, and social connections. Fortunately, I get a lot of supports from my supervisor, our department, and the tutors in the center of academic communication in UVic. These supports really smooth my path to adaptation. I am currently supported by China Scholarship Grant. My paper Analyzing emergent roles in group process: Does it contribute critical thinking in collaborative learning? has been accepted for presentation in the CSSHE 2020 conference.
