Outreach programs

A key part of CORE's mandate is connecting members of the Faculty of Education to community organizations to provide services that directly benefit children and youth. In addition to funding, CORE provides ongoing support to important UVic-community partner programs by donating the use of the CORE learning centre.

Inclusion Works!/ Inclusion Works! Saanich
In partnership with Community Living Victoria, Inclusion Works! is a family-governed program that helps young adults with disabilities to learn, work, and participate in all aspects of the community.
Stelly's Secondary School
In partnership with teachers at Stelly’s High School, CORE tutors provided academic support to students struggling with the transition from grade 8 to grade 9.
Victoria Native Friendship Centre
CORE and VNFC partnered to provide an after-school physical literacy program twice a week. Tutors from the Exercise and Physical Health program and Teacher Education partnered to provide physical literacy and literacy/numeracy-based games.
Songhees k̓ʷamk̓ʷam éʔəŋ
CORE continues to provide tutors to work with students at the drop-in program at the Songhees Nation Wellness Centre. More info: https://www.songheesnation.ca/services/education-services
