Dunsmuir Lodge property to be sold

The University of Victoria is in the process of selling the former Dunsmuir Lodge building and property to Homewood Health, a leader in addictions and mental health treatment and the surrounding lands to the Pauquachin First Nation.

UVic has applied to the District of North Saanich for a rezoning and subdivision of the ±100-acre Dunsmuir property to allow for a change from education to care use, and to facilitate the sale of separate portions of the property, ±25 acres to Homewood and ±75 acres to the Pauquachin. The Pauquachin have also agreed that UVic can provide one acre to North Saanich for the creation of new public trails to access John Dean Provincial Park. Continue reading...
