Gear Up to Graduate

Gear up to graduate

Congratulations! With graduation right around the corner, it's time to put all the pieces of your UVic experience together—your interests, competencies and experience—to help you make the leap into the working world.

Don't worry—it's normal to be anxious, and we're here to help. We've put together all the resources you need to take the next step.

Plus: Even after you graduate, you can continue to access our career help and resources forever as an alumnus!

How can you get a sense of the type of career that suits you?

In addition, Peter B. Gustavson students should:

  • Review your DISC Profile (Completed during Workplace Skills Conference), paying special attention to Behavioural Traits and Motivators

Where can you find career opportunities?

How can you describe your strengths to employers?

How can you craft résumés and cover letters that get results?

For Peter B. Gustavson students:

  • Apply approaches discussed in COM 204 and with your co-op coordinator

How can you work on your interview and networking skills?

How can you connect with employers and develop work search skills (events)

We offer regular events to help you connect with employers, including career fairs, networking sessions and more.
