RevenueWire sees results from hiring UVic co-op students

RevenueWire

Founded in 2007 in Victoria, RevenueWire is a global ecommerce platform for companies selling digital products online and has been named to the Branham 300, Deloitte Fast 50, VIATeC 25 and Profit 500 as one of the fastest-growing companies in Canada. Based in the ever-changing world of ecommerce, RevenueWire fosters many opportunities for real-world learning in the workplace and regularly hires UVic co-op students and grads in a wide range of roles.

“RevenueWire has been a long-time supporter of the UVic Co-op Program,” says Kim Krenzler, Director of Talent and Culture, who has hired co-op students across several disciplines over the years. “Our company benefits in two ways – first, we get the resources needed to help with a variety of projects, and second, we benefit from welcoming young team members who bring a passion for learning and a dedication to working hard into the workplace.”

Christine Eastgaard, RevenueWire’s Marketing Operations Manager, utilizes co-op students within the marketing department to drive corporate marketing initiatives—an important piece of RevenueWire’s operations. The business works with clients to optimize every phase of the online transaction lifecycle, including marketing, sales, customer management and more.

For UVic commerce co-op student Dennis Pavlina, the opportunity to work with Eastgaard and the team was something he couldn’t pass up. He was hired as Marketing Communications – Support Services staff in September, and is responsible for coordinating some of RevenueWire’s email marketing campaigns, organizing networking events, developing marketing collateral and building a database of prospects for a new business initiative.

“I’m excited about going to work,” says Pavlina, who is currently on his second four-month co-op work term at RevenueWire. “The opportunity to work in e-commerce where the landscape is constantly changing has exposed me to foundational marketing concepts that I’ll be able to use in future positions.  I’ve been fortunate to learn from talented people who have extensive marketing experience. I’ll be extremely proud to list this experience on my résumé.”

Eastgaard has been equally impressed with Pavlina’s work. “Dennis is thoughtful and mature in how he interacts within the company, and he continually strives to learn and grow within the marketing team,” she says. “Because of this, we’ve added more complex projects to his role.”

Pavlina has leveraged the opportunity with RevenueWire to put his academic studies into practice, and to connect with his coworkers. “I work hard to exhibit strong teamwork competency every day in order to contribute to a healthy and productive work environment,” he says. “I’ve learned so much and am thankful for this challenging and rewarding opportunity to work with the RevenueWire team.”
