Marshals

You play a vital role in the preparations for each Convocation ceremony. You line students up in the order they receive their degree/diploma/certificate, lead students from the Clearihue Building into the Auditorium, and assist the flow of students as they cross the stage. Marshals are recruited by assigned faculty representatives.

Chief marshal

You coordinate and direct all procession marshals and student marshals and assemble the students in the Clearihue C Wing. You lead students into the University Centre Farquhar Auditorium and control the flow of students as they cross the stage.

Procession marshal

You coordinate student marshals, assemble students in the Clearihue C Wing and guide lead them into the University Centre Farquhar Auditorium. During the conferral of degrees you manage the flow of students from their seats and bring students to the stage.

All marshal volunteers are invited to join the students at the reception afterward in Mystic Market.

Time required: 3 hours


You line the students up in their room and assist the lead marshals during the ceremony. During the ceremony your main role is to help direct traffic flow, NOT to assist students from their seats to the stage.

You assemble the members of the academic procession (faculty members, members of Senate and Emeriti) in Clearihue Building D134 and guide them through the procession and onto the stage in the University Centre Farquhar Auditorium.
