Collective bargaining continues after CUPE 4163 agreement reached

With the recently negotiated tentative agreement with Components 1 and 2 of CUPE local 4163, collective bargaining has passed the halfway point at UVic.  In total, approximately 72 per cent of UVic’s 6,468 unionized employees are now covered by tentative or ratified collective agreements negotiated under the provincial bargaining mandate.

Bargaining with CUPE 951 is well underway and, as is typically the case, the union and the university have agreed to a media blackout at this time. Bargaining with CUPE 951 started in July and the union recently agreed to reconvene those negotiations in late November. Bargaining dates are currently scheduled through February.
