How to apply for a home purchase loan
UVic's home purchase loan supports eligible new faculty members and librarians in the purchase of a first home in Victoria by providing up to $35,000 for a five-year interest-free loan.
Eligibility
The home purchase loan program is available to:
- New faculty members who hold regular, tenured or tenure track appointments at the rank of assistant professor, associate professor or professor and are in their first five years of employment at UVic. The five year period is calculated from the start date of your appointment.
- New faculty and new librarians who hold regular appointments and whose appointment took effect on or after July 1, 2010 at the rank of senior instructors, teaching professors, artists-in-residence, academic administrators, and librarians.
- This program does not apply to anyone with a limited term appointment.
