"After volunteering at Gorge Road Hospital last year [on Project Serve Day], I decided to get in contact with Island Health and have been volunteering at a Dementia Care Hospital ever since. I think having a low-stress and low-commitment opportunity such as Project Serve Day plays a vital role in encouraging students to become more involved in our community."

2nd year Biology & Psychology student

Participate in Project Serve Day and make a difference in our community! On October 1, 2016, join a team of UVic students and alumni who will volunteer with non-profit organizations throughout Victoria and Vancouver Island.

The goal of Project Serve Day is to connect our enthusiastic and energetic students and alumni with community groups who need your help. This will be the first opportunity for many UVic students to get involved in the larger community that surrounds our campus, and we hope it won't be the last!

Whether you continue volunteering with the same organization or are motivated to pursue your own interests, Project Serve Day can get you started.

Where do I start?

Check out the available volunteer placements to see what interests you, then register to be a project facilitator or a participant. A selection process will apply for projects where the number of registrants exceeds the number of available spots.

Lunch and t-shirts will be provided to all participants.
