Operations

Greening the University of Victoria's campus operations has a major role to play on our path to sustainability, along with research, education, and community partnerships.

Our physical campus is a living laboratory for innovative teaching and research programs, policies and practices. The sustainable way we manage our campus serves as a role model for students, staff, faculty and for the region in which we operate. It also helps green the supply chain for goods and services, reduces community greenhouse gas emissions, supports local farmers, creates a major transit hub and reduces the amount of waste going to our regional landfill.

Sustainability Action Plan: Campus Operations, 2009-2014

Our Sustainability Action Plan for Campus Operations 2009 - 2014 was developed through extensive consultation with students, staff, faculty and the surrounding community. It details our many goals and actions in key operational areas: Transportation, Purchasing, Grounds, Waste, Water, Food, Buildings and Energy.
